Inside the Time Capsule: Larusso’s Grand Opening in Surabaya

From the very beginning, planning the Grand Opening of Larusso’s 12th store in Ciputra World Surabaya felt like stepping into the heartbeat of a brand that has never stopped moving. As the event organizer, we had the privilege of watching this moment unfold from the inside—seeing every idea, every design choice, and every detail come together to tell the story of a brand built on ambition, growth, and confidence. Larusso has always carried the spirit of forward momentum, and bringing that spirit to Surabaya was more than just another project; it was an opportunity to frame an important chapter in their journey.

Larusso’s expansion across Indonesia has been impressive—Medan, Palembang, Palangkaraya, Makassar, Bali, Malang, Kediri, Solo, and the Jabodetabek area—and now Surabaya joins the growing list. But what stands out every time we work with the Larusso team is that these store openings are never just about adding a new location. They’re about getting closer to the people who wear their pieces with pride. Everything they do revolves around the mission “A Brand for Those Who Never Stop,” a mission we wanted to translate not only visually, but experientially, throughout the entire event.

When the theme “Time Capsule” was chosen, we knew we were crafting more than an opening ceremony—we were building an atmosphere where guests could feel the brand’s past, present, and future intertwined. The goal was to create an environment that didn’t just showcase fashion, but celebrated the evolution behind it. From moodboards to layout mockups to the final lighting adjustments hours before the doors opened, every detail was designed to capture Larusso’s modern identity while honoring the relentless energy that has shaped its journey.

On the day of the opening, the excitement felt electric. Ps. Phillip Mantofa arrived, along with loyal customers, Surabaya influencers, friends, partners, and family members who have been rooting for Larusso since its early days. Seeing the store fill with familiar faces and new supporters reminded us why this brand has grown so steadily—its community is genuinely invested in its success. And as organizers, it was fulfilling to witness how each guest naturally became part of the story we were trying to tell.

One of the event highlights was the “Styling with Expert” session led by professional stylist Andreas Pao. What could have simply been a fashion talk quickly turned into an intimate conversation about confidence and personal expression. From backstage, we watched guests nod along, laugh, and soak in new ideas on how to elevate their everyday style. It was the kind of engagement every organizer hopes for—the moment when the audience stops being spectators and becomes participants.

Then came the trunk show, a sequence we spent days rehearsing, perfecting, and synchronizing. As the models stepped out wearing Larusso’s latest designs, the room shifted. People leaned forward, cameras rose, and the identity of the brand—bold, modern, confident—came to life on the runway. It was a reminder of why Larusso stands out: the craftsmanship, the clarity of vision, and the way each piece tells its own story.

Inside the store, the interior design tied everything together. Modern, clean, refreshing—yet warm enough that guests stayed longer than they planned, exploring each corner. We watched millennials, adults, and even older visitors move comfortably through the space, drawn to the aesthetic that made the store a natural magnet for fashion enthusiasts. Creating a place where everyone felt welcome was one of our goals, and seeing it happen in real time felt incredibly rewarding.

Larusso also unveiled its latest innovation, the Molecule Tee—crafted from teteron cotton and polyester, equipped with stain-free technology. As organizers, we often get preview access to products before the guests arrive, and this one immediately stood out. It represented what Larusso does best: combining style with thoughtful function, meeting the needs of people who move, hustle, and live fully in their clothes.

By the end of the event, as the last group of guests lingered for photos and conversations, we stood back and took in the moment. The new store wasn’t just open—it felt alive, ready to become part of the daily rhythm of Surabaya’s fashion scene. For us, organizing this grand opening wasn’t only about executing an event perfectly. It was about helping tell a chapter of Larusso’s story, shaped by ambition, community, and the shared belief that growth never stops.

Walking out that evening, we knew this wasn’t the end of the journey—just one more milestone for a brand that continues to evolve. And we felt grateful to have played a part in bringing this moment to life.
