There was something mesmerizing about the way Halda Fungvalo and Christie Erin Harsono interacted with one another. It was caring, sweet, yet fun, almost like a banter with an old friend. This free-spirited couple knew exactly what they wanted for their wedding. So when we heard about their plans, we were super intrigued to be a part of it.

Have you ever heard the saying that goes ‘home is not a place, but a feeling’? Halda agreed with it. Choosing Perth as their wedding venue was not a random pick or merely following a bandwagon trend, but it was something much more. Perth would always have a special place in Halda’s life, since he spent memorable years there before settling back to Surabaya. We totally understood why he wanted his special day with the one to be held at Perth.

Erin was as excited as Halda. She totally adored the idea, and immediately had a concept in mind: the extraordinary yet traditional one. She wanted everything to be exceptional.

We’re so used to seeing wedding with red and bright color palettes. So Erin’s distinctive choice of black, nudes, and white color schemes pleasantly surprised us. The magic hands of Natural Art Flowers as the decorator left us in awe. They turned the plain white Postal Hall into a warm and intimate venue—inviting many ‘wow’s from the guests.

The day begun with the traditional Surabaya Chinese Procession in the morning, continued with holy matrimony at King’s Park, one of the biggest parks in the heart of Perth. The weather was breezy yet clear, and the whole setting was just astounding; overlooking the whole city of water and central business district. Halda and Erin handpicked the spot. They were consistent about which part of the park they wanted to use and how they would face the altar when they did the vows.

It was indeed challenging for us to arrange an overseas wedding with total of 135 pax of guests. We helped from the hotel reservations, booking and check-in, vendor arrangements, communication during preparation and D-day, and the overall smallest details. We had to fight the drowsiness as we stood by at the hotel from the dawn just to make sure every guest was checked in their rooms. However, it was all paid off and we were once again reminded why we loved what we did when the event ran well and the guests were left with nothing but bright smiles in Halda and Erin’s exceptional day.
